KUALA LUMPUR — Bursa Malaysia extended its decline at mid-morning today (7 Nov) on continued profit-taking.
At 11.07 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 4.31 points to 1,460.36 from Monday’s close of 1,464.67.
The benchmark index opened 0.62 of-a-point easier at 1,464.05.
In the broader market, decliners outpaced gainers 434 to 258 while 417 counters were unchanged, 1,239 untraded and seven others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.26 billion units worth RM638.51 million.
Among the heavyweights, Maybank added one sen to RM9.12, Hong Leong Bank gained two sen to RM19.30, IHH Healthcare was flat at RM6.01, Public Bank eased one sen to RM4.24, CIMB fell three sen to RM5.78, and Petronas Chemicals dipped nine sen to RM7.25.
Of the actives, EA Technique rose 4.5 sen to 38.5 sen, Ranhill rose two sen to 90 sen, Salutica advanced 5.5 sen to 87.5 sen, and both Econpile and Tanco were flat at 31.5 sen and 57 sen, respectively, while Kanger trimmed half-a-sen to 11.5 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index shed 29.82 points to 10,779.61, the FBMT 100 Index gave up 28.94 points to 10,444.69, the FBM Emas Shariah Index decreased 34.89 points to 10,978.0, the FBM 70 Index shaved off 31.28 points to 14,209.53, and the FBM ACE Index fell 9.34 points to 5,113.53.
Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index slipped 26.21 points to 16,429.61, the Industrial Products and Services Index inched down 0.58 of-a-point to 172.59, the Plantation Index slid 23.90 points to 6,966.75, and the Energy Index eased 5.61 points to 870.86. — Bernama
