The broader market was positive as advancers beat decliners 390 to 337, while 375 counters were unchanged, 1,184 untraded and 14 others suspended!

KUALA LUMPUR — Bursa Malaysia maintained its positive note at mid-morning today as bargain-hunting emerged in selected heavyweights, led by the industrial products and services counters.

At 11 am, the FBM KLCI rose 4.91 to 1,407.94 from 1,403.03 at Tuesday’s close. 

The key index opened 1.54 points firmer at 1,404.57.

The broader market was positive as advancers beat decliners 390 to 337, while 375 counters were unchanged, 1,184 untraded and 14 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.50 billion units worth RM675.89 million.

Among the heavyweights, Public Bank gained three sen to RM3.99, CIMB added one sen to RM5.23 and IHH Healthcare rose two sen to RM5.86, while Maybank eased two sen to RM8.80 and Tenaga Nasional fell one sen to RM9.09.

Of the actives, Classita fell two sen to 21 sen, MST Golf slid 2.5 sen to 78.5 sen and KNM was half-a-sen lower at eight sen, while UEM Sunrise rose 3.5 sen to 42.5 sen.

On the index board, the FBM Emas Index ticked up 31.74 points to 10,429.98, the FBMT 100 Index was 31.37 points higher at 10,110.01, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index was up by 32.49 points to 10,726.50.

The FBM 70 Index climbed 26.72 points to 13,925.74, and the FBM ACE Index advanced 38.14 points to 5,403.70.

Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index perked 42.73 points to 15,712.49, the Industrial Products and Services Index gained 2.26 points to 164.35, the Plantation Index rose 38.22 points to 6,959.86 and the Energy Index strengthened 1.72 points to 809.28. – Bernama
